Point Yamu By COMO, Phuket, Thailand

Point Yamu by COMO features 79 guest rooms and suites and 27 private pool villas. All rooms, suites and villas at Point Yamu offer views of the sparkling waters of Phang Nga Bay. Point Yamu has two dining options for guests – Nahmyaa offers Thai cuisine which also includes the healthful COMO Shambhala cuisine, and the Italian restaurant La Sirena features a terrace with sweeping views over the bay.

In keeping with COMO’s focus on wellbeing, the COMO Shambhala Retreat offers holistic, Asian inspired therapies and treatments in its eight treatment rooms. Point Yamu’s location, on a peninsula on the east side of Phuket, gives guests the chance to experience the lesser known side of the island. Activities and excursions include private boat trips from Marina Pier to the stunning nearby beaches and islands. Cultural activities such as Thai cooking classes and island tours of Phuket and its old town are also available to Point Yamu guests.

Location and Transfers

Located on Cape Yamu, a tropical peninsula on Phuket’s east coast that overlooks peaceful Phang Nga Bay. The resort is an easy 25 minute drive from Phuket International Airport

Point Yamu’s Phuket luxury accommodation is colourful yet uncluttered, contemporary yet indigenous. Blue and turquoise design accents in the 79 rooms and suites, and 27 private luxury villas, recall the Andaman Sea, all offset by cool white and grey Sino patterned tiles and floor-to-ceiling windows framing the spectacular views.

Most rooms have private terraces with views across Phang Nga Bay or inland across the Cape, while the Pool Suites and Private Villas benefit from their own swimming pools

La Serena – this Italian restaurant at Point Yamu is located poolside, and open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Whether you are seated inside, outside, under the pergola or by the pool, La Sirena benefits from views of aquamarine Phang Nga Bay stretching out beyond the 100m infinity pool. Breakfast includes a lavish spread of fruit, homemade cereals, fresh fruit and vegetable extracts, continental breads and local-style sweet martabaks. Lunch is simple wood-fired Italian cuisine, including pizza and seafood. Dinner menus feature a wider selection of pastas, salads, raw and cooked seafood, and antipasto platters

Nahmyaa Thai Restaurant – open daily for lunch and dinner and is inspired by Thai street food cooking. Snacks might include fish cakes and sates, while more substantial offerings include noodle soups, curries and stir-fried dishes. Dinner includes whole fish (grilled, steamed and fried), river prawns and crabs, with tastes combining the hot, salty, sweet and sour notes that define this distinct culinary tradition. Desserts, which are very popular in Thai culture, include pandanus jellies and sweet sticky rice with mango

Central Bar – for bars in Cape Yamu, look no further than Point Yamu’s Central Bar, open daily from 9am until midnight. Here cocktails are created and health-giving smoothies and juices to be enjoyed poolside, or in the Italian or Thai restaurants

Lobby Lounge – this ground floor lounge seating is a great meeting point for resort guests, as well as a place to wind down after dinner with a nightcap

Private dining – made possible by the expert culinary staff at Point Yamu, who can orchestrate gourmet meals in a host of romantic, exotic locales. For families, seaside barbecues may be organised, and for corporate groups, ensure complete privacy with just the boats and birds of Phang Nga Bay in view. The private dining room seats 20 with an adjacent lounge area for pre- and post-dinner drinks. There are three further meeting rooms for banqueting, which between them accommodate 80, and a courtyard area for 150

COMO Shambhala Cuisine – for healthy cuisine in Phuket look no further than the COMO Shambhala Cuisine menus, available in all of the hotels restaurants and on room service. The style of cooking uses organic ingredients rich in living enzymes, vitamins and minerals. COMO Shambhala Cuisine isn’t about calorie counting; rather food is presented that optimises nutrition while tasting delicious. Unprocessed honey replaces other sweeteners, and when fat is needed, olive oil stands in for butter

Room Service – Point Yamu by COMO’s room service menu is wide and varied. Available 24 hours, it includes healthy dishes, open sandwiches, pastas, Thai curries, salads and seafood. Child- and infant-friendly options are also on all menus
